Danielle Udogaranya
Danielle Udogaranya – best known as Ebonix – is a multi award-winning gaming content creator and DE&I advocate and most recently announced as bCreator’s Gaming Creator of the Year.
Fuelled by a frustration with the lack of diversity and representation in games such as The Sims 4, she decided to take matters into her own hands by teaching herself 3D modelling and creating hair, clothes and accessories that she felt represented her. Her content quickly struck a chord with others in the gaming community, and led to Danielle working directly with The Sims on the addition of over 100 skintones, afro hair, and nails. Her designs have ushered in a generational change for new and seasoned Simmers, giving everyone the option to create a Sim who looks like them.
Recently, Danielle was one of 12 featured artists to be a part of Foto/Industria ”Seeing Me, Seeing You, Seeing Us” exhibition in Bologna, Italy. The display represented a timeline of views on the topic of game play. By popular demand, the exhibition was extended until the end of 2023.
Through her gaming mods and content creation projects, Udogaranya has since become an advocate for diversity and representation in gaming and has been featured on Apple, BBC, Vice, The Verge, The Guardian and listed as one of TikTok’s trailblazers for Black History Month 2023. She was the first Black British femme to be a Twitch Partner in 2020, and she went on to co-found Black Twitch UK, a platform established to uplift and spotlight Black British streamers. This led to the formation of the first Black focused Stream Team on Twitch in the UK.
Danielle’s mission is to advocate, create space and generate greater positive representation for black, POC, women, femmes and non-men in the gaming space. Representation is at the heart of her work, and the driving force behind a majority of campaigns she has worked on including Sky – No Room For Abuse, Nike, YouTube Shorts, Amazon Music, Meta and Charlotte Tilbury.
In October 2023, Danielle launched Evoluto which is a platform to evolve visibility in gaming and media. Evoluto takes the traditional DE&I approach in gaming to provide consultation, workshops and public speakers diving into the intricacies of cultures.
