1. What inspired the name of your blog?
There were two things that really inspired me to call my blog The Silk Sneaker. Firstly, I wanted to touch on my Indian heritage. I was born and brought up in India and in many ways it has influenced my style. As India is the biggest exporter of silk and are renowned for their luxurious silk saris, I knew I had to include it. Sneaker, because I love and live in my sneakers and it touches upon the more modern and casual aspect of my style.
2. How would you describe your personal style?
I always say that my style is “laid back luxury”. I love to mix high end designer pieces with high street pieces to create outfits that are aspirational but also attainable. In many ways the name of my blog, The Silk Sneaker, really highlights that with luxurious silk meeting casual sneakers!
3. What do you find most difficult about maintaining your blog and social media accounts?
A part of being a blogger is being able to wear many hats. I think the most
difficult part of my job is being able to juggle between all the different jobs and responsibilities while still staying motivated when things seem tough or discouraging.
4. Which social media platform is your favourite and why?
Instagram is my favourite social media platform for sure. I love the ease with which you can share content, especially now with IGTV. I also love how you can really showcase your personal brand and aesthetic through the platform.
5. What do you hope to achieve with your blog by the end of the year?
For me it’s all about growth right now. I really hope that I am able to grow my readership and following, connect with my followers on a more personal level and have the opportunity to bring them some really beautiful and enriching content.
