Following on from our launch weekend of the Blogosphere Award nominations, the #BlogosphereChat returned Sunday at 8pm focusing on photography. Over the hour we learned about how our network uses their camera equipment and smartphones for their content creation. Here’s what they had to say…
Q1: What device do you use for taking photos?
Many bloggers and influencers use multiple devices, depending on what the content is for. For quick, social media updates a smartphone camera is a popular option, whereas a DSLR provides users with more creative control and quality. Using just a smartphone camera for content has become an increasingly viable option for influencers as the quality offered by these devices improves.
Q2: Where do you find inspiration for your photography? Is there anyone who inspires you?
We had a variety of answers for this question, a common theme for bloggers and influencers who contributed to chat was the changing weather seasons, architecture/destinations, and other influencers on social media and in magazines.
Q3. How has your photography changed or improved since starting?
Most agreed that their photography had improved since they started creating content online, from learning how to fully utilise their DSLR to experimenting with different styles.
Q4. What editing tools and apps do you use? Is there any filters or presets you like?
Adobe’s Lightroom and Photoshop appeared to be popular options for bloggers and influencers who participated in the chat, as well as mobile apps like VSCO and Snapseed. Interestingly, most preferred to keep their edits quite minimal without the need for lots of filters.
Q5. Share one of your favourite photos from your Instagram
We had a variety of images for this question, colourful flatlays of beauty products to street style fashion shots. Here’s an example of the ones that were shared:
